We’ve completed a major overhaul in how our tutorials are organized on Drupalize.Me. Take a look at the new Guides page and find something to new to learn about Drupal.

Drupalize.Me has an interesting content problem. We have nearly 1,000 tutorials for folks who want to learn new skills in Drupal. Our tutorials cover a multitude of topics for themers, module developers, site builders, administrators, and backend specialists. We needed a way to give our members better navigation tools to help them understand the context they are in and where they could go after going through a tutorial.

To give learners better context, we wanted to add navigation to the sidebar of tutorials that shows what course and guide the tutorial is in. In order to do this, we needed to simplify how we organized our tutorials. Tutorials could belong to only 1 course. And courses could specify a parent guide that would serve as the primary context for the navigation.

To make this happen, we needed to create courses that were more focused in their scope. And organize those courses into guides, so that when you reach the last tutorial in a course, you can see in the sidebar navigation if there’s another related course for you to explore next.

We hope that these new guides, courses, and navigation will make it easier for you to explore our tutorials and decide which learning path is best for you to explore next.

What’s next? We’re starting to work on new videos for the “task” tutorials in our new Module Developer Guide — our practical guide for newcomers to modern Drupal module development (or for those who need to fill in gaps in their knowledge of Drupal’s primary APIs).

Here are some of the new guides and courses we’ve added as part of our major re-organization project, so that we could add more helpful tutorial navigation.
