VAST Data, the AI operating system company, has announced a landmark $1.17 billion commercial agreement with CoreWeave, the specialized cloud provider built for artificial intelligence workloads. The multi-year deal cements CoreWeave’s reliance on VAST’s AI Operating System (AI OS) as the foundation for its large-scale infrastructure, reinforcing both companies’ shared vision of building the next generation of data and compute architectures for AI.
CoreWeave, known for its GPU-accelerated cloud optimized for machine learning and high-performance computing, has integrated the VAST AI OS across its environment to deliver faster access to data, greater reliability, and improved economics for customers training and deploying large AI models. The AI OS provides a unified data platform capable of handling the massive storage and throughput demands of modern AI, enabling real-time inference and continuous learning workloads across multiple data centers.
The partnership enables CoreWeave to deploy VAST’s technology across any of its data center locations, ensuring seamless performance regardless of scale. According to both companies, the system’s scalability allows them to meet the high-compute demands of enterprises and research organizations developing frontier models. The integration also aims to simplify complex data pipelines, reducing the bottlenecks that often limit AI development and training efficiency.
“At VAST, we are building the data foundation for the most ambitious AI initiatives in the world,” said Renen Hallak, Founder and CEO of VAST Data. “Our deep integration with CoreWeave is the result of a long-term commitment to working side by side at both the business and technical level. By aligning our roadmaps, we are delivering an AI platform that organizations cannot find anywhere else in the market.”
CoreWeave has rapidly emerged as one of the most important infrastructure partners in the AI ecosystem, providing large-scale GPU resources to companies developing generative AI, machine learning, and simulation workloads. The company’s partnership with VAST Data is designed to further enhance the performance and reliability of its infrastructure by ensuring that AI data pipelines are not only scalable but optimized for speed and cost-efficiency.
“The VAST AI Operating System underpins key aspects of how we design and deliver our AI cloud,” said Brian Venturo, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer at CoreWeave. “This partnership enables us to deliver AI infrastructure that is the most performant, scalable, and cost-efficient in the market, while reinforcing the trust and reliability of a data platform that our customers depend on for their most demanding workloads.”
VAST Data’s AI OS integrates compute, storage, and data management into a single platform, effectively eliminating the traditional boundaries between these layers. This approach allows AI models to train and infer directly on the same infrastructure, reducing latency and improving efficiency. The platform’s design also aligns with the industry’s shift toward “AI factories” – purpose-built data center architectures designed to handle the immense processing requirements of AI model development.
For CoreWeave, the partnership strengthens its competitive position in a rapidly expanding AI infrastructure market, one increasingly defined by the ability to move and process data at scale. Together, the companies aim to redefine the relationship between data and compute, creating what they describe as an intelligent data architecture designed for continuous AI workloads in industries such as life sciences, finance, and media.
The $1.17 billion deal reflects the growing financial and strategic importance of data infrastructure in powering AI at scale – and signals that the collaboration between specialized cloud providers and AI-focused data platforms is becoming essential to the next phase of enterprise computing.
