Nebius Group, a global provider of AI infrastructure, has entered into a multi-billion dollar agreement with Microsoft to supply dedicated computing capacity for artificial intelligence workloads. The multi-year deal marks one of Nebius’s most significant partnerships to date and will provide Microsoft with infrastructure from Nebius’s upcoming data center in Vineland, New Jersey, which is expected to come online later this year.
Arkady Volozh, founder and chief executive officer of Nebius, described the agreement as both a validation of the company’s strategy and a catalyst for future growth. He noted that while the firm’s core AI cloud business already serves a wide spectrum of customers, ranging from startups to large enterprises, long-term contracts with major technology companies and research labs represent a new growth engine.
Mr. Volozh emphasized that the deal not only makes strong financial sense on its own but is also expected to accelerate Nebius’s broader expansion from 2026 onwards.
Supporting Faster Scaling
To meet the requirements of the agreement, Nebius plans to fund the capital expenditures through a mix of contract-generated cash flow and debt secured against the deal, leveraging the creditworthiness of its counterpart. The company indicated that it is also evaluating additional financing structures to support faster scaling than initially planned and intends to update stakeholders on its strategy in the coming months.
The partnership reflects the increasing demand for advanced AI infrastructure as major technology players seek to secure capacity in a tightening market. Nebius formally disclosed details of the contract in a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
