Khazna Data Centers Partners with IDCA to Adopt Global Standards

Abu Dhabi-based Khazna Data Centers, one of the largest operators of hyperscale data centers in the Middle East, has entered into a strategic partnership with the International Data Center Authority (IDCA) to align its operations with globally recognized digital infrastructure standards.

Under the agreement, Khazna will ensure that its entire ecosystem – including workforce development, AI and cloud deployments, service delivery, and architectural design – complies with IDCA’s stringent benchmarks. These standards focus on performance, resilience, compliance, and operational excellence.

The partnership comes as Khazna spearheads the development of a 5GW AI Hub in the United Arab Emirates, a major infrastructure project aimed at meeting the increasing demand for AI and cloud computing across the region. Alongside this initiative, the company has unveiled its international expansion plans, which include entry into key markets such as Saudi Arabia, Kenya, Egypt, Turkey, France, and Italy.

“This strategic alliance between IDCA and Khazna is not only game-changing for the Middle East but will also set new standards of excellence on a global scale,” said Mehdi Paryavi, Chairman and CEO of the IDCA. “Khazna plays a critical role in the future of digital infrastructure for cloud and AI, and its adoption of IDCA standards demonstrates a strong commitment to international best practices.”

Hassan Alnaqbi, CEO of Khazna, emphasized the long-term nature of the collaboration, stating, “Khazna has committed to aligning all future developments with IDCA’s framework – an industry benchmark that reflects the full complexity of modern digital infrastructure. This alignment not only reinforces our leadership in the MEA region but also enhances our global competitiveness.”

‘Future-Proof Data Centers’

The certification process officially began on July 1, 2025. Dedicated teams from both organizations are overseeing a full-scale compliance and auditing program covering Khazna’s corporate systems, infrastructure, and operational methodologies.

“Our mission has always been to deliver trusted, future-ready infrastructure that powers digital transformation at scale,” added Mr. Alnaqbi. “As AI becomes a defining force in our industry, our partnership with IDCA ensures that we are building intelligent, efficient, and future-proof data centers.”

According to IDCA projections, global data center capacity is expected to grow from around 55GW today to between 250 and 300GW by 2030. Mr. Paryavi noted that this explosion in demand underscores the need for capable, scalable operators like Khazna to deliver infrastructure that meets both regional and international requirements.

By aligning with the IDCA, Khazna positions itself to not only lead regional digital transformation efforts but also contribute meaningfully to the evolving global landscape of AI-enabled data infrastructure.
