euNetworks, a leading European bandwidth infrastructure provider, has completed a new long-haul fiber route connecting Frankfurt and Zurich, delivering two short, fully diverse network paths that enhance data connectivity between Central Europe and the Mediterranean region. The new route offers customers high-capacity, low-latency alternatives for connecting major data center hubs in Frankfurt to critical submarine cable landing stations along Europe’s southern coast.
Traditionally, establishing redundancy between Frankfurt and the Mediterranean required routing through Paris or Munich – both significantly longer detours that added latency and cost. The new Zurich pathway stays east of existing corridors, delivering a shorter, more direct connection while maintaining full diversity. This makes it an attractive option for cloud, AI, and content delivery providers seeking robust, high-performance connectivity across continental Europe.
Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam, Paris, Dublin
The Frankfurt–Mediterranean corridor has become one of Europe’s most strategic digital arteries. Frankfurt, one of the ‘FLAP-D’ markets (Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam, Paris, and Dublin), remains Europe’s largest and most interconnected data center hub.
Meanwhile, Marseille and Milan have emerged as key gateways linking Europe to networks across the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. euNetworks’ new build integrates seamlessly into this ecosystem, adding further redundancy and capacity to the company’s Frankfurt metro network – which now boasts eight unique long-haul routes.
“euNetworks is the backbone of Europe’s digital future,” said Marisa Trisolino, CEO of euNetworks. “Our investment in ‘Super Highways,’ our future AI-ready critical infrastructure, and our continued focus on building unique routes like this demonstrate our commitment to supporting Europe’s growing bandwidth demand. By offering our customers the most direct and diverse paths, we’re ensuring they have the infrastructure needed to thrive in an AI-driven world.”
The project reflects euNetworks’ ongoing investment in Europe’s critical network infrastructure. With more than 582 data centers already connected across the continent and a growing pipeline of new builds underway, EuNetworks continues to play a pivotal role in enabling low-latency, high-capacity connectivity for the data economy of tomorrow.
