Bit Digital Secures New Québec Data Center to Support AI Infrastructure Expansion

Bit Digital (Nasdaq: BTBT), a digital infrastructure company focused on high-performance computing (HPC), has obtained development rights for a new data center located in Saint-Jérôme, Québec. This strategic move supports the company’s existing five-megawatt (MW) colocation agreement with Cerebras Systems, a leader in generative AI infrastructure solutions.

The upcoming facility, named MTL-3, will occupy 7.7 acres and is projected to encompass approximately 202,000 square feet. Designed to meet Tier 3 standards, the site will align with modern colocation requirements. Bit Digital is spearheading the project through its HPC platform, WhiteFiber, and expects the facility to be operational by July 2025. The total development cost is estimated at CAD $55 million (around USD $40 million).

The agreement is structured as a lease-to-own deal, featuring a fixed-price purchase option available within the first year. The lease spans 20 years, with two optional five-year extensions. Bit Digital has also positioned the site for future expansion, pending approval from local utilities. Under the terms of the agreement, Cerebras Systems will hold the right of first refusal for any additional capacity that becomes available.

Boosting AI Infrastructure in Greater Montréal

“This milestone represents continued momentum in our strategy to deliver purpose-built AI infrastructure at scale,” said Sam Tabar, CEO of Bit Digital. “In the AI infrastructure business, speed to market is a crucial differentiator, and this site demonstrates our capabilities to deploy and supply capacity on shorter deadlines.”

This latest development builds on the partnership between Bit Digital and Cerebras Systems, which began with a five-year agreement signed in February 2025 for a customized 5MW IT load facility. Bit Digital views this initiative as part of its broader effort to expand data center capacity in the greater Montréal area—an emerging hub for AI innovation in North America.

Headquartered in New York, Bit Digital operates globally through its WhiteFiber platform, with facilities across Canada, the United States, and Iceland.
