Honeywell and LS ELECTRIC Partner on Smart Power Management

Honeywell has entered into a global strategic partnership with LS ELECTRIC to co-develop and market intelligent hardware and software solutions aimed at transforming power management and distribution across data centers and large-scale buildings.

The collaboration is designed to improve operational efficiency, reliability, and sustainability at a time when data center energy consumption continues to surge.

The partnership brings together LS ELECTRIC’s deep experience in power infrastructure with Honeywell’s leadership in building automation and control technologies. Together, the companies will offer integrated solutions that allow operators to seamlessly align power distribution with broader building management systems. This approach aims to help data center and facility managers optimize energy use, reduce outages, and ensure that power loads match operational capacity in real time.

Their initial joint offerings will focus on integrated switchgear and power management systems for data centers, providing precise control and uninterrupted power delivery for mission-critical applications. Future developments will include advanced electrical power monitoring solutions built on Honeywell Forge, the company’s AI-enabled industrial platform, combined with LS ELECTRIC’s power system software. These systems will use artificial intelligence and predictive analytics to proactively identify potential equipment issues before they cause disruptions – minimizing downtime and improving power quality across complex digital infrastructure environments.

Honeywell and LS ELECTRIC will also collaborate on the development of a new battery energy storage system (BESS) designed to create grid-aware microgrids for commercial and industrial buildings. The modular solution will integrate LS ELECTRIC’s storage capabilities with Honeywell’s dynamic energy control software to forecast energy demand, manage grid stress, and optimize costs based on real-time utility, weather, and operational data. Such systems are expected to play a growing role in ensuring resilience as data centers – already responsible for 1–2% of global electricity use – expand rapidly to meet demand from AI and cloud computing.

Billal Hammoud, President and CEO of Honeywell Building Automation, said the partnership reinforces Honeywell’s mission to deliver “smarter, scalable solutions for the world’s most critical industries.”

JongWoo Kim, President of LS ELECTRIC Power Electric, added that the collaboration will help the company expand globally while delivering “differentiated solutions that enable big tech data centers and large building operators to achieve both energy efficiency and reliability.”
