RETN Partners with JPIX to Expand Remote IX and Connectivity in Japan

Global network services provider RETN has announced a new strategic partnership with JPIX, one of Japan’s most established Internet Exchange Points (IXPs). The agreement designates RETN as an official reseller of JPIX services, expanding its Remote IX portfolio and improving international connectivity into Japan at a time when demand for local content and services is rising rapidly.

The deal grants RETN customers direct access to JPIX’s fabric, a critical interconnection platform in Japan’s telecommunications ecosystem with strong presence across major urban hubs.

By leveraging JPIX’s infrastructure, international networks gain the ability to peer with Japanese and global operators efficiently, without needing to establish their own physical infrastructure in-country.

The approach would lower entry barriers for enterprises seeking to deliver digital services to Japanese users and enhances the quality of service for customers requiring reliable, low-latency access to one of Asia’s largest economies.

Eurasian Backbone

For JPIX, the partnership extends its reach through RETN’s vast Eurasian backbone, enabling Japanese networks to connect more seamlessly with international operators across Europe and Asia. The agreement strengthens reciprocal connectivity, ensuring that both local and global companies benefit from more direct and scalable routes for data exchange.

William Manzione, Product Manager at RETN, said the collaboration marks a step forward in RETN’s efforts to build out its Remote IX services in Asia. “JPIX’s infrastructure allows us to connect a wide range of networks across Japan, giving our clients access to one of the most interconnected digital markets in the world,” he noted.

Tetsuya Hamada, Senior Executive Expert at JPIX, emphasized the value of the partnership in enabling international organizations to tap into Japan’s digital economy. “Together, we will provide smoother and more efficient access to Japan, unlocking new opportunities for businesses and networks worldwide,” he said.
