Transfer a WordPress website from one host to another (Step by Step)

In this video, I’ll show you how to move a WordPress website from one host to another.

There are several reasons you might want to do this:

-You have build a new website on a temporary host (e.g. a staging site, test site or development site). Now, it’s time to replace the old website with the new one.

-You built your site locally on your hard drive. For example, by using ‘Local by Flywheel’. Now the site is ready, and you want to move it to the live WordPress site on the internet.

-You were using an old domain name, and you are rebranding and moving over to a new domain name.

-You were using free hosting on a subdomain, then you bought a real domain and hosting. Now, its time to move the free website over to the premium domain and host.

There are two plugins we have tested to do this job. They both have their own pros and cons.

WPvivid
(Move & Backup WordPress – WPvivid Backup Plugin)

Migration, Backup, Staging – WPvivid Backup and Migration Plugin

This one is 100% when we tested it. It doesnt have any limitations. However, the user experience isn’t 100% friendly. Having said that, we didn’t have any trouble using this plugin to move a website first try!

All-in-one Migration
All-in-One WP Migration – WordPress plugin

This is also free, but the free version is limited to websites smaller than 512MB. If your site is bigger, you’d need to buy the pro version. This plugin is very well developed and feels a bit more like a ‘one click solution’. It is very user friendly and simple. You might try this one first if your website is only small.
