Amazon is working on an initiative around NFTs & gaming. What could this mean for all of us? Well, imagine that OpenSea has about 2.5 million users. For Amazon, we’re talking about 310 million. The company’s Web3 ambitions would have an estimated launch sometime in the spring. According to 4 different sources, the folks at Amazon are calling the initiative “NFT enterprise”. You know how it is, when you hear from 4 sources, it sounds more like a pre-press release. On sources!? CEO Andy Jassy had previously stated that Amazon is willing to sell NFTs and generally doesn’t close the door to crypto.
The NFTs-funded film Calladita won the top prize at the Sundance Film Festival in the Film3 category. The category was established last April when the Decentralized Pictures platform was funded with a $300k grant from Ocean’s Eleven director Steven Soderbergh. The grant was split into 3 awards of $100k each. The film “Calladita” has been funded from sales of NFTs of approximately $750k to date, plus the newly awarded $100k.

Showtime launches Pre-Save collectibles, a new way to earn NFTs for pre-saving a song on Spotify. Collectors will be entered into a raffle to win an edition of the album in question. As a main benefit, besides promotion, not needing a wallet, dropping can be done to all the fans, not just those familiar with web3; in addition, pre-save increases reach on Spotify.
Sound unlocks open editions for all artists on the platform. The option had been active in beta for a week.
