Google Lens, Discover, and Voice Search serving issues

Google has confirmed a content serving issue with Google Discover, Google Lens and voice search for some users.

What Google said. Google wrote:

“There’s an ongoing issue with serving Google Lens, Discover, and Voice Search results that’s affecting some users. We’re working on identifying the root cause. The next update will be within 12 hours.”

Impacting who. It is unclear how widespread the issue is but Google said it is “affecting some users.” It must be larger enough of an impact for Google to post about it on its status report.

Larger internet issues. Google Cloud posted regional issues across almost all its services, CloudFlare posted issues for its services, and sevices like AWS and others are reportedly having issues as well.

Why we care. If your site gets traffic from Google Discover, Google Lens and voice search, you may want to annotate the outage or issues. In addition, even if you don’t, your site and services may be having loading issues due to AWS, Cloudflare and Google Cloud issues.

UpdateNew content impacted too. It appears that Google Search is no longer returning new content in its index and search results. This started a few hours after the initial issue.
