American Server Firm Supermicro Partners with Saudi Data Center Developer DataVolt in $20 Billion AI Infrastructure Deal

American server technology leader Supermicro has entered into a groundbreaking multi-year partnership with Saudi data center developer DataVolt. Valued at $20 billion, the agreement will drive the deployment of high-density GPU platforms and rack-scale systems across hyperscale AI campuses in both the United States and Saudi Arabia.

The announcement was made during the Saudi-US Investment Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, an event attended by former U.S. President Donald Trump and Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.

DataVolt, known for its billion-dollar investments in digital infrastructure, aims to transform the technological landscape in both nations. Its data center initiatives are expected to generate economic growth, high-skilled employment, and global AI leadership.

This major partnership follows DataVolt’s recent agreement with NEOM to design and build the MENA region’s first fully sustainable, net-zero AI campus in Oxagon.

A Strategic Alliance for AI and Sustainability

The collaboration marks a significant step forward in global investment in AI infrastructure. According to DataVolt CEO Rajit Nanda, the partnership is built on a favorable business environment shaped by the policy initiatives of former President Trump and the strategic vision of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

“We are excited to collaborate with Supermicro,” said Nanda. “By combining cutting-edge server technologies with gigawatt-scale renewable energy and net-zero green hydrogen power, we aim to deliver unmatched scalability and sustainability. This partnership strengthens a U.S.-based supply chain for critical GPU systems and accelerates our global investment strategy.”

Powering the Future of AI

The $20 billion investment highlights the growing geopolitical importance of AI infrastructure. Backed by major Saudi investors, DataVolt is developing hyperscale computing campuses tailored to support massive AI workloads. These facilities will be powered by sustainable energy sources, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s national goals for innovation and environmental responsibility.

For Supermicro, the deal solidifies its position as a key supplier of advanced server and rack-scale systems in the fast-evolving AI sector. “We are thrilled to work with DataVolt to expand our U.S. manufacturing operations,” said Charles Liang, President and CEO of Supermicro. “Together, we will deliver world-class AI and compute infrastructure that supports Saudi Arabia’s ambition to become a global technology and innovation hub.”

Accelerating AI Deployment and Supply Chain Resilience

This partnership is expected to significantly speed up the rollout of high-density computing systems amid surging global demand for generative AI and large-scale machine learning. It also reflects a broader strategic shift toward building more resilient and geographically diverse supply chains for critical computing technologies—an increasingly important focus for both governments and private enterprises.

With this landmark deal, Supermicro and DataVolt are poised to play a central role in shaping the next generation of AI infrastructure, sustainability, and global digital transformation.
